Why Space Robotics

Space is the ultimate proving ground for robotics.

In space, autonomy is not a convenience. It is a necessity. Distance, hostility, and extreme operating conditions demand machines capable of acting with exceptional resilience and independence. These capabilities will be essential as exploration moves from isolated missions toward sustained operations and a lasting presence beyond Earth.

Space robotics has a long history of autonomous operation in extreme environments. Yet many of the recent advances transforming terrestrial robotics and physical AI have not fully translated into space systems. The communities driving these fields remain too disconnected, slowing the transition of emerging capabilities into reliable, mission-ready systems.

Space Robotics exists to bridge that divide, bringing frontier robotics into closer contact with real space needs and expanding what humanity can explore, build, and discover across the solar system and beyond.

Organize with Space Robotics

Strong technical communities often have people ready to lead — but starting a workshop or event from scratch can be unnecessarily difficult. Much of the work required to establish the platform, audience, relationships, and operating infrastructure is rarely reused.

Space Robotics helps selected organizers develop focused workshops, technical sessions, hackathons, and related programs under a shared global platform. Organizers lead the technical vision and program. Space Robotics provides the platform, network, and quality framework that make it easier to execute well.

Space Robotics works with companies, research organizations, government programs, investors, and other institutions that believe robotics and autonomy will be fundamental to sustained activity beyond Earth.

Partners help make technically ambitious, accessible programming possible while gaining meaningful visibility among leading researchers, engineers, founders, students, mission stakeholders, and emerging talent across major international robotics, AI, and space venues.
